Panasonic 20,000 Ansi projectors (PT-DZ21K2) are equipped with a multi-lamp system that offers some interesting features and is worth considering when choosing a projector of this category for rental.

Let's look at some:

  • Lamp redundancy. The projector can operate with four, but also with three, two, or even one lamp. This makes the system automatically redundant and particularly reliable.
  • Lower power consumption and therefore an advantageous Watt / Lumen ratio compared to other light sources, as well as a reduced cooling system.

The use of 4 UHP (Ultra High Pressure) lamps is less demanding in terms of electrical absorption, thus allowing the Panasonic PT-DZ21K2 to have smaller dimensions and less noise compared to other machines of the same class. In fact, the required power supply is a simple 16 Amperes.

Like almost all professional projectors, this machine also offers the possibility to modulate light emission by partializing the use of lamps. But in this case, the PT-DZ21K2's multi-lamp system offers several options, including the ability to turn off lamps one by one.

Panasonic provides a table in this regard, which helps us estimate the projector's brightness under various possible operating conditions.

Lamps
Lumens (Brightness)
Quad 20.000
Triple 15.000
Dual  10.000
Single5.000

  • 24/7 operation achieved with a Lamp Relay system, which is the alternating operation of lamps during long periods of continuous illumination. Obviously, this results in reduced nominal brightness.
